Provided a complete blank slate with minimal information to design a honey jar label for a small six panel glass jar. The locally made honey was in need of a name, logo, and packaging label and was to be used as a thank you gift for the Johnson & Wales University Board of Trustees. Taking inspiration from the Wildcat Way, the school’s mantra, I created a sophisticated, rustic yet modern concept for the honey jar. I selected a simple color palette that represented those of the school. Due to the small size of the panels on the honey jar provided, I needed to create a narrow logo. I decided to focus on a typographic logo paired with a hex pattern that would wrap around the label. This geometric pattern is based on the shapes seen in a honey comb.
