During the global pandemic it became necessary to find a solution for a contact-less
dining experience. To accommodate this need for a single use menu, I chose to create a digital menu that is downloadable via a link or QR code. Aquae Vitae, which translates to Water Life, is a small tasting menu featuring seafood components in each course. I decided to utilize an upscale, clean serif font paired with a whimsical sans-serif that represented
the smooth flow of water. I stuck with a traditional nautical theme composed of ropes, an anchor, and shades of blues and whites. I wanted to incorporate an anchor into my logo
so that I could utilize it as an icon throughout the menu to create consistency as the user traveled to different screens of the menu. A lot of my focus went into creating a purposeful ebb and flow to the movement of the menu. The user experience of this digital menu
was extremely important as I wanted the transitions to replicate the smooth currents
of the ocean.
